Vience L. Bell

The Life of Brother Vience L. Bell, Sr.

Our beloved Vience was born December 12, 1955, in Princess Anne County, now Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was the second child born to his loving parents Fred Hunter Bell and Norma Lawrence Bell. On Monday, August 12, 2024, Vience quietly completed this earthly journey, at the direction of God our Heavenly Father, who is too wise to make a mistake.

Vience was reared in Creeds and was educated in the Virginia Beach Public Schools System. He was very athletic and enjoyed playing baseball, football and running track. When he started running, no one could catch him. Vience was an exceptional outdoorsman. He was a superior hunter and avid fisherman. He also had a passion for restoring antique cars. 

Vience accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at a young age, during our Annual August Revival, under the pastorship of Reverend Ajack Scott and joined Little Piney Grove Baptist Church. He participated with the Youth Choir Ministry, Usher Ministry and the Male Choir Ministry. 

In 1978, Vience married his high school sweetheart, Alice Pauline Hansom. To this union two loving children were born Vience and Vienceia.

Vience was employed with the City of Virginia Beach and completed his career, after eighteen years, with Contractor’s Paving. 

Vience leaves to cherish precious memories, his children, Vience Bell, Jr. of Fall River Massachusetts (Alicia) and Vienceia Bell Williams (Toriano, Sr.); mother, Deaconess Norma Bell; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; four siblings, Victor Bell (Mindy), Victoria Lynn Bell, Fred H. Bell II (Annette), Wade Bell; a friend to the end, Drew Moore; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

We’ll think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched. For nothing loved is ever lost, and he was loved so much.
