Susan Loretta Whitaker transitioned on Saturday August 28, 2021 at her residence in Virginia Beach, Virginia

Susan Loretta Whitaker, affectionately known to her family as Momma, NaNa, Baby Sis, Aunt Suzie and Sexxy Puss. Susan, was born to the late James and Elaine Gibbs, on July 30, 1969; and she departed her life, to go home and be with the Lord, on August 28, 2021, at the age of 52.

In 1987, Susan graduated from Mattmuskeet High school at the age of 18. She was consistently employed at USPS for fifthteen years. Understanding the importance and impact on how extending her education would help her and her children. Susan decided to further develop her skills as a member of the medical field. Susan went on to use her care and developed skills to provide hands on care in many areas of the Healthcare system for twenty years.

On October 2, 1999, Susan and her daughters relocated to Norfolk, VA. Being the fourteenth child, of fourteen children, Susan learned very early about caring-for and protecting those who were close to her. An example of Susan's family-oriented mindset was demonstrated by the way she cared for her children and grandchildren. Susan sacrificed and lived to ensure each of her grandchildren were taken care of and loved. Please realize Susan didn't play when it came to her grandchildren!

Susan was beautiful, vibrant, full of energy and excitement. When it comes to laughter, fun and entertainment, there was no one like Susan! She was artistic, fashionable and a social butterfly. Susan could be found painting, crocheting, draw portraits, dancing, traveling, spending time with her grandchildren; and lastly spending money!

Susan's most cherished roles were mother and "NaNa". She gave her grandchildren unconditional love, care and support. Susan was full of love and care, she not only lookes out for her children and grandchildren, she looked out for everyone! Susan was always there to show support to anyone that came to her. She was a great listener, would take you in, made sure you had something to eat and would give good advice and do whatever she could to help you. There wasn't anything Susan wouldn't do for her family, especially her grandchildren. Susan's love for family, friends, kids in the neighborhood, close friends of her children and her patients was genuine and her love was felt.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents and her sibling(s). Susan leaves her legacy and to cherish her memory: spouse Barry Whitaker; long term partner Brian Burton, her two children: Sasha S.D. Harris-Williams of Miami, FL and Ashley I. Whitaker-Dagner (Cameron) of Virginia Beach, VA; her eleven grandchildren: Kemyni Z. Gibbs, Jaden W. Gibbs, Fabian O. Gibbs, Laio I. Whitaker, Yaziah R.
