Nina Anita Mangum

July 1, 1980 — March 13, 2019

Nina Anita Mangum, daughter of Vernette LeDoux and Harold Drumgoole, passed away unexpectantly on March 13, 2019.  Born July 1, 1980 in Norfolk, VA, Nina was educated in the public schools of Chesapeake, graduating from Indian River High School in 1997.  She attended classes at Tidewater Community College after High School and was presently studying Phlebotomy.

She is predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Vivian Boone Mangum; her paternal grandparents, George and Ruth Drumgoole.

Nina was a dedicated worker and worked for Food Lion for 22 years holding various positions in the company.  She enjoyed serving others and was admired by her customers and colleagues.

She was a sweet and quiet young lady, always caring more about others than herself.  She was a remarkable cook and enjoyed cooking and baking especially for her family.  She always kept a collection of new recipes to try out.  Nina was an exceptional mother and her children were the joy of her life.

Left to cherish Nina’s memory are her beautiful children Malik, Marquis, Neylan and Mendel Hassan of Chesapeake, VA; one sister, Monique LeDoux of Chesapeake, VA, one brother, Eugene LeDoux of Las Vegas, NV; mother Vernette LeDoux of Chesapeake, VA; Harold Drumgoole of Norfolk, VA; a special friend, Matin Hassan of Portsmouth, VA; grandfather Warren Mangum Sr of Virginia Beach, VA; half-sister Nakita Boyd (Andre) of Norfolk;  half-sister Sabrina Drumgoole of Norfolk, VA; half-brother Darryl Drumgoole of Norfolk, VA; and a host of aunts; uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Jesus was with her in her last hour and put His everlasting arms beneath her and held her fast.  Her beautiful life will be forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew her.

It is the desire of the family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
