Born on February 16, 1968, Melanie grew up in Portsmouth, Virginia. From an early age, she displayed a remarkable zest for life and a genuine compassion for others. Her warm smile and infectious laughter lifted the spirits of everyone around her. Melanie's radiant presence illuminated every room she entered, making it impossible to remain untouched by her charm.

Throughout her life, Melanie remained dedicated to serving her community. She found solace and purpose in volunteering at various local organizations and lending a helping hand wherever it was needed most. Her selflessness knew no bounds, as she tirelessly worked to make the world a better place for those less fortunate.

Melanie's commitment to both faith and family was unwavering. As an active member of New St Thomas Baptist Church in Portsmouth, she found immense comfort and spiritual nourishment among fellow parishioners. Melanie's deep love for her family was evident in every aspect of her being. As a devoted mother, sister, daughter, and friend, she always put the needs of others before her own. In recognition of Melanie's life and the profound impact she had on all who knew her, public visitation will be held on September 20th at New St Thomas Baptist Church in Portsmouth. The visitation will take place from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, allowing friends and loved ones to pay their respects and share their memories of Melanie.

A funeral service will be held on September 21st at the same location, starting at 12:00 PM. This solemn occasion will provide an opportunity for all who loved Melanie to reflect on her life and find solace in one another's presence. Her memory will live on through the heartfelt stories and fond memories shared by those who were touched by her love.

Following the funeral service, Melanie will be laid to rest at Olive Branch Cemetery in Portsmouth. The burial ceremony will commence at 2:15 PM, allowing family and close friends to bid a final farewell to a remarkable woman who enriched their lives with her love and compassion.
