Mavis Andrea Mason - Pigott passed away Saturday September 14, 2019 at her residence.
Mavis Andrea Mason-Pigott was born on December 7, 1953 in Norfolk, Virginia to Mr. and Mrs. Eddie T. (deceased) and Stella C. Mason (deceased) and raised with four brothers: Eddie Jr. (deceased), Larry (deceased), and Gregory Sr. (deceased). Andrea, or “Dre,” as she was affectionately known, attended the elementary school of and grew up in the Douglass Park Community of Portsmouth, VA. During her career, Andrea met her life partner and husband, Willie James Pigott. They met in 1990, married in 1994, and celebrated life together until Willie passed away in 2009. Thereafter, Andrea continued to be dedicated to the Mason and Pigott families, church community, and friends. She also provided support to many in her neighborhood.
