Life and Family
Lyra Green was the most loving person and a wonderful woman of God. She was known as Mammy, Grandmother, Sister Green, Mother Green, and Mrs. Green. She was born on the beautiful island of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, on Saturday, June 22, 1957, to Eleanor Delores Nicco and Macelino Cruz. Lyra was adopted by her great-aunt and husband, Josephine and John Jarvis. She was the eldest of her eight siblings.
Lyra loved her family. She met her husband, Edward Green, in 1972. Edward and Lyra were married on July 6, 1974. They had enjoyed a wonderful marriage of 42 years. They parented a total of 6 children, five daughters and one son. She also had one stepdaughter, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews.
She lived a blessed life where she loved to travel all over the world. She really enjoyed spending time with her children and grandkids. She was known for her talents with her arts and crafts. Many have been blessed with her gifts of blankets, towels sets, vanity trays, center-pieces, and many other items.
