Joyce Elaine Minor affectionately known as “Ladi Jai” transitioned unexpectedly February 3rd, 2023 @ 11:57pm. Joyce was born August 7th, 1956, in Durham North Carolina to Chester Lee and Anna Mae Thompson. Joyce graduated from Stamford High School Class of “74”, following graduation she pursued her career as an Administrative Assistant for Union Trust Bank in the Stamford CT, A typist for the Stamford Advocate and ended her professional career at Old Dominion University in the Food Service Department.
Joyce was excited about becoming a “GG”, she loved to read and was a passionate inspirational poet. One of her favorite pass times was spending hours on the phone with her sister Glenda and best friend Sheila, she also enjoyed her long deep conversations and laughs with her grandson Jaikya, Joyce was a part of the 365-prayer warrior group and a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Lamberts Point. In addition to her parents Joyce was predeceased by her husband Jeffery Minor SR, Sister Regina Thompson, brother Charles Lee Thompson. Joyce leaves to cherish her memory daughter Shaunta Minor (Walter Woodson), Son Jeffery Minor Jr, Sisters Elder Linda K. Thompson-Burden, Glenda Ann Thompson (Vicente Saez), Special sister-in-law Laurie Minor, Four grandchildren Jaikya, Zarieyha, Laylonie and Javieon, one great grandchild to be Jream, and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends whom she loved dearly.
