Jean Annie Ryland

Jean Ryland died Friday May 15, 2020 in Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia. Jean was born July 6, 1929 to the late Granville and Sallie Boone Morings in Gates County, NC.  

She attended Gates County Public Schools. As a young adult she moved to Princess Anne County, VA. Where she met and married the love of her life, Herbert Lee Ryland. Herbert and Jean were married for more than sixty (60) wonderful years.  He preceded her in death on November 30, 2016; however, Herbert showed his undying love for his wife, Jean, to the very end. 

She was an extraordinarily gifted seamstress and built a lifelong career with various department stores and businesses. During which time, she also had a career as a medical nurse. 

Left with precious memories of Jean is her sister, Sallie Smith, VA Beach, VA, her sister-in-law, Mary Ives, Portsmouth, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and special friends who she loved dearly. 

She is preceded in death by six siblings: Lucinda Garris, Amos Greene, Ruth Owens, Theodore Morings, Calvin Morings and Henry Morings; and nephew like son: Wade D. Morings, Sr.  

Memories last a lifetime only if you share them.
