In the early morning hours of Saturday May 18, 2019 God sent His Angel of Mercy to take our beloved one Irvin Maurice Petty up His heavenly home. Maurice was born on November 17, 1955 in Virginia Beach, VA to the late Earnest and Marlene Petty. He graduated from Cox High School and attended Old Dominion University. He worked for Food Lion Grocery store for over 25 years.
Maurice was a faithful member of Morning Star Baptist Church and a devoted member of the deacon ministry. He was a warm friend to everyone and went out of his way to help and encourage those he came in contact with. He enjoyed watching football and going to breakfast with his brothers on Saturdays, making his sweet potatoe and coconut pies for family dinners, the church and friends.
Maurice has been reunited in God’s Kingdom with his parents Marlene and Earnest Petty, and brothers: Donald (Sneaky), Marvin (Molock), Wilford (Bay- Bay) and Bobby (Fish).
He leaves to cherish memory his loving family, brothers Kelvin, Toney, and Tyrone; sisters Diann and Charlene; special Aunt Shirley, special cousin Robert, special cousins Naomi, John, James, and Jean; nieces and nephews Alicia, Terrance, Damien, Adam, Nicole, Kevin Jr., Tony Jr., Christopher, Djann, Nekol, Cory, Demetrius. Sister- in- laws Betty, Karen, and Sharon; Brother-in-law Leon; special nephew; Jayden Weathersby; goddaughter Erica; godmother Edith Garrett; and a host of other cousins, great nieces and nephews.
It is the desire of the Petty family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
