Life’s Adventures of Eric Lorenzo “Piggy” Davis Eric Lorenzo Davis affectionately known to most as “Piggy” gained his heavenly wings on the evening of Tuesday, September 19th after winning his life’s battle against Type1 diabetes. Born the baby of the bunch to Mr. and Mrs Ernie L. Davis, his bright eyes and even brighter smile hypnotized us all into spoiling him instantly. He was an adventurous kid, always off to find the next outdoor adventure to tackle.
He was truly one of “The Little Rascals”. If the question was ever asked “Where’s Piggy?”, the answer was sure to be “Outside somewhere”. Growing up in the Norview area of Norfolk Piggy was raised up within his Olive Grove Baptist Church family, attended Norview High School and soon after stepping into adulthood he became employed at The Cavalier Hotel, Alsco Uniforms/Linen,and later became a Cook, which was his passion.
Who knew burning all those hamburgers at home was leading him to what he loved. Unfortunately, Diabetes caused him to be unable to continue his passion as employment but it continued bringing him joy at home His adult adventures also blessed him with Fatherhood, bringing him such joy and purpose.
Dhymond lit his life with pure joy as we watched him transform into her Hero Later as his adventures slowed down just enough for him to meet his devoted wife Alvarescha, for 7 years they filled each other’s life with countless adventures, their favorites being roadtrips and beach hangouts Eric is now an angel amongst us along with his Father Mr. Ernie L. Davis, Maternal Grandparents Walter and Bernice Bell Sr., and Paternal Grandparents Mr. Moses and Evelyn Beamon. Left to cherish his memories and celebrate his life along with his wife Alva, and daughter Dhymond is his Mother Bessie M.
