Alonzo dedicated his professional life to the construction industry as a skilled bricklayer, working for multiple companies over the years. His commitment to his craft brought him not only pride but also the satisfaction of seeing the tangible results of his labor reflected in the buildings that surrounded him. Alonzo was more than just a builder; he was a craftsman whose work stood as a testament to his dedication and perseverance.
Beyond his career, Alonzo was a man of many passions. He had a profound love for music and was known to mesmerize those around him with his gifted singing voice. Whether at family gatherings or local events, his love for melody easily transformed the atmosphere, creating unforgettable moments filled with joy and laughter. Additionally, he enjoyed the camaraderie of bowling, where he celebrated friendly competition and shared countless laughs with friends.
Alonzo is survived by his loving family, who will cherish his memory and the many lessons he imparted. He leaves behind his three sons, Alonzo Dale McConnie III, Jason Karl McConnie, and Corey Marcell McConnie, along with their respective spouses, Jennifer McConnie, Lashawn Foster, and Lamecca McConnie, who blessed him with countless cherished memories. His Nieces, Kescha Moore and Artista Jennings, and his brother, Michael Jones who carries forward the bond they shared, a testament to their closeness through life's trials and tribulations.
Alonzo was also a proud grandfather to Deonte Taylor, Anthony Taylor, Kaylup McConnie, Khiyla McConnie, Laila McConnie, Alonzo Darren McConnie, Aaron McConnie, Khiyana McConnie, and Connor McConnie. Each grandchild held a special place in his heart, and his stories and laughter will continue to resonate in their lives.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris McConnie, alongside his brother, Cedric Jones and sister, Elgie Moore, each leaving an indelible mark on his spirit.
